IL Hemp Bill Voted Down PDF Print E-mail

The Illinois Industrial Hemp Act, House Bill 1383, was voted down on March 31, 2011.  The bill would have allowed farmers in Illinois to grow hemp once and would define hemp as being varieties of the cannabis genus whose THC content is below 0.3%

A resolution calling on the federal government to distinguish between hemp and pyschoactive cannabis in their definition of cannabis, House Resolution 271, also failed by a vote of 91 against and 21 in favor.  A list of that vote is available here:
