Cannabis has been used for centuries for a range of ailments and has no known toxic effects. In addition, the industrial hemp version of the cannabis plant can be used for many commercial products and is far more environmentally-friendly than its alternatives. For these reasons, Illinois NORML has launched a campaign to promote the healthy and wholesome aspects of the amazing cannabis plant. By providing literature about how healthy cannabis is, we force our opponents to show us evidence that cannabis is not healthy. By representing cannabis and its users as wholesome, we are challenging people to see drugs and drug users in a new and more accurate light.

Our Healthy and Wholesome campaign is inspired and sponsored by the Cannabis Action Network (CAN) of Berkeley, California. CAN has launched a similar campaign, focused on promoting the healing nature of cannabis and decreasing the number of people incarcerated for non-violent cannabis offenses.
