At Illinois NORML we are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us end cannabis prohibition. Below is a list of tasks and positions for people interested in volunteering. All volunteers should have their Illinois NORML membership dues paid in full.

GENERAL VOLUNTEER TASKS: 1. Lobby your elected officials Call the State of Illinois Directory Assistance at 217-782-2000 and have the operator connect you with your State Representative, State Senator and the Governor and urge them to vote YES on Senate Bill 1381 and House Bill 2514, the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Acts. For help lobbying 2. Arrange screenings of the documentary Waiting to Inhale these can be at a local library, private residence or just about anywhere that movies could be shown to the public. 3. Write a Letter to the Editor of a publication. Media Contact List
4. Design or sponsor the purchase of an Illinois NORML banner or Illinois NORML shirts/stickers/buttons.
5. FUNDRAISERS...such as benefit shows. If your band is playing, have part of the cover charge or donations go to our organization 6. Donate Office Supplies like copy paper, envelopes, or folders as we always need more of this stuff. Please send us stamps. 7. Attend rallies, parades, monthly meetings and fundraisers. 8. Talk to others about the need to reform cannabis laws.

SPECIFIC POSITIONS NEEDED:
-County Leaders throughout Illinois. Please inquire by using our contact form. -Assistant Director The Assistant Director’s duties would include organizing new events, representing the organization at events, assisting in mailing membership materials and responding to inquiries. An articulate, trusted activist is desired who can operate independently yet in conjunction with the Executive Director and the Illinois NORML team. -Volunteer Coordinator The Volunteer Coordinator will work on training volunteers on activism as well as organizing volunteers to help out at various events. A charismatic people person with a familiarity with volunteerism is desired. -Outreach Coordinator The Outreach Coordinator will work on expanding the Illinois NORML organization. Recruiting new members and volunteers will be the primary duty. Another duty will be locating events where Illinois NORML can setup an informational table. -Newshawks for the Media Awareness Project -People to post our info on craigslist -Fundraisers -Talk Radio Listeners -Law Enforcement Officers to speak out against prohibition
