Illinois Veto Session Ends without a Vote on Medical Cannabis Bill PDF Print E-mail

The 2008 veto session ended in November of 2008 without a vote on the medical cannabis bill. Even though the bill wasn't voted on, the highlight is that the bill’s sponsor, Sen. Cullerton, will take over as the President of the Illinois Senate next year, and with Senators Iris Y. Martinez, Donne E. Trotter, Michael Noland and Ira I. Silverstein having signed on as co-sponsors, we are in a great position to become the 14th medical cannabis state to allow access to this most beneficial plant.

Let's not forget Michigan becoming the first Midwestern state to have enacted a medical cannabis bill. Thus, making dominos fall as the West, the East, and now the Midwest are on board to help patients have access to this wonderful medicine. Thank you for all your calls and keeping the stories flowing into the ears in Springfield.
