The 96th Illinois General Assembly began on January 14, 2009, and thus we need to contact state legislators and tell them to introduce new legislation to reform cannabis laws in Illinois.  We need to have as many people as possible contact these local officials and urge them to reform cannabis laws.

When you speak with your legislators, simply let them know that you support the right of a patient and doctor to choose what treatment is best. If medical cannabis could help you manage pain, relieve the nausea associated with chemotherapy, prevent muscle spasms, etc., please be sure to let your legislators know this.  Whether you speak directly with your legislators, to a staffer, or leave a voicemail, keep your message short and to the point -- less than a minute is all it takes to convey your support and legislators will appreciate your call as they are very busy.
