Thank you for your letter concerning the vote to legalize medical cannabis in the state of Illinois. Thank you for sharing with me your story and need for medical cannabis.
I support SB1381 and will vote for it when it comes to a vote on the floor. I feel that patients who are suffering should not be denied usage of medical cannabis if it will aid in relief of their symptoms. Passing this bill in Illinois does not encourage addiction and illegal drug usage, but instead shows basic compassion for patients' suffering.
I supported this legislation last session as well. I will continue to work to pass this bill and champion it with my colleagues.
